    Clubs & Activities

There are lots of Leadership activities in the school that we encourage our students to get involved in.  Some of the clubs that we have had this past year are:

    - Plant Club
    - Art Club
    - Intramurals
    - Recycle Club

Athlone has been lucky to be part of Free Footie. Free Footie is for boys and girls in Grades 3, 4, 5 and 6. Free Footie helps 1000's of kids in Edmonton play soccer, but there's so much more to it than just kicking a ball... Visit the website for more information here. Free Footie runs in May and June, Tuesday and Wednesday after school.

Welcome

Welcome to Athlone Elementary School.

Athlone is located in the Athlone Community and includes the newer development of the Dunvegen Community to the west of the school. Our school is a working partnership between students, staff, parents, and the community. We are a student-centred school community committed to strong educational programs delivered in a supportive, nurturing, and safe environment. We believe that our school-wide focus on literacy in all subject areas will provide a foundation for all students to attain their personal optimum levels of achievement across the curriculum.

We offer three educational programs at Athlone: Full Day KindergartenRegular Grade 1 - 6, and Behavior and Learning Assistance Program

Principal's Message

I am thrilled to have the opportunity to lead the Team of students, staff, and parents at Athlone School and to work together to ensure the environment of high expectations of learning and behavior is maintained.  Every effort will be directed towards empowering our students to do their best, both academically and socially.  Our future depends on our students – your children.  Through our collaborative efforts, we will ensure this year is engaging, challenging, successful, and safe, helping pave the way for a bright and successful future for all.

We will once again dismiss every Thursday at 12 Noon to continue staff professional development in the areas of Literacy and Numeracy through our participation in the West 6 school-research project.  It is my belief, that through this in-depth professional collaboration, we can help ensure success for all our students.

We look forward to working with you to ensure a terrific and rewarding school year.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact me at the school.
