Welcome to Athlone Elementary School!
Athlone is located in the Athlone Community and includes the Dunvegan Community west of the school. Our school is a working partnership between students, staff, parents, and the community. We are a student-centered school who are committed to strong educational programs delivered in a supportive, nurturing, and safe environment. Our school-wide focus on literacy in all subject areas provides a strong foundation for students which allows them to achieve their own optimal levels across the curriculum.
We offer four educational programs at Athlone: Full Day Kindergarten, Regular Grades 1-6, Interactions, and Connections.
We are part of the Equity Achievement Project and an Apple school.
At Athlone School, we believe that a child's career pathway begins at birth. We strive to do much more than help them answer the question "What will I be when I grow up?" by providing opportunities to learn and strengthen the skills and resources they need to be a confident person. This includes giving children opportunities to apply what they have learned to real-life situations; giving them hands-on experiences; using goal-setting to keep focused on what’s important; and providing formative feedback so they can reflect and grow.
