Our school provides a supervised lunch program on a regular or drop-in basis as a service to parents. However, we encourage parents if at all possible to make other arrangements for lunch. Children benefit from a break in school routine.
Lunch program fees collected cover the costs of the noon hour supervision, additional custodial services and equipment. For example, all outdoor play equipment used during the noon hour, soap, paper towels and other supplies are paid for with the fees. The majority of the students will eat in the lunchroom.
Students staying for lunch are expected to behave in a respectful, responsbile manner. Students who are not cooperative will be removed from the lunch room or they may be temporarily or permanently suspended from the lunch program.
In the interest of promoting good nutrition and dental care, the consumption of candy, soft drinks and 'junk food' is not encourage in the school or on the playground. We encouage parents to support our efforts and not include such foods in students' lunches. We want to help our students make healthy choices in their selection of food. Please help us in supporting this focus on nutrition.
